You're absolutely right! There are a ton of terms associated with writing poetry. Poets use these terms to denote the techniques they use to write poetry. Critics use them to analyze and discuss the techniques and the ability of poets to communicate their messages in new and unique ways. Readers of poetry may use the terms but are more often just interested in gaining enjoyment or enlightenment from the reading of poetry.
