Poetry Terms That Start with the Letter D
Dactyl - A metrical foot with three syllables. The first syllable carries the accent while the next two are unstressed. The opposite of the anapest.
Example: Uppity.
Diaphora - A repetition of a name in which the first reference states the name and the second reference applies its significance or meaning.
Example: "Our God is an awesome God."
