Hyperbole, Issue #012 (Jan. 31, 2008) - Harpoon, Poetry Chapbook Review January 31, 2008 |
||||||||
| Hello Poets and Poetry Lovers Got a new chapbook review this week. Harpoon by Michael Cavendish. I've also recently sent a poetry book review to Rattle. I will let you know when it is published. As for Harpoon, see "Poetry Book Reviews" below. If you're wondering which blog posts to read this week, I recommend "True Poetry: Criticizing The Critic" and "Poetics: The 7 Essential Elements Of Poetry." Of course, they're all good.

Poetry Book Review: HarpoonHarpoon is Michael Cavendish’s first poetry chapbook. A lawyer by profession, he has led a rather interesting life: Besides stalking and killing a wild boar, harvesting jellyfish, and studying at a Vienna garret, he was raised by opera singers, spent nine consecutive years at university, and learned French and German at the family table. Not exactly the fantasy life for most of us, but it’s no average existence either.
Read a critique of "The Poppies," a poem taken from Harpoon.

Call For Submissions!Send me your original poetry. If it meets my strict standards then I'll publish it in Hyperbole and on the World Class Poetry Blog. Previously published poems are OK as long as you own the copyright. Use the WCP contact form. Submit your criticism and reviews to Hyperbole. Interviews of published poets welcome. Prose about poetry - send it. Our only bias: High quality. And when all else fails, write a poem.
